Privacy Policy

As of 27.11.2020
Thank you for visiting the candidate select GmbH (CASE) website. It is very important to us to respect your privacy. The following paragraphs therefore contain information on how we handle your data.

In certain cases, the information for three different user groups differs between the following:

  • Visitors of a relevant website (see appendix)
  • Unregistered users of the case-score-domains, e.g. receivers of CASE certificates (see appendix)
  • Business customers of the case-score-domains, i.e. registered users with a business customer account (see appendix)

Collection and use of personalised data
We store data that is necessary for the execution of the contract. If you give us this data during an order process or via our contact form, we will use this data to process the request. Unless you actively object to this, we keep such data for any queries for up to three months. If you have not agreed to a different arrangement, this information will no longer be used when the contract between you and us has been processed and will be deleted after the applicable retention obligations in accordance with tax and commercial law.

Personalised data (name, email address, mobile phone number) collected by private users as part of the creation of one of our certificates is only stored on our server for a longer period of time when the user has actively confirmed our terms and conditions and placed an order. Previously-entered data is only stored locally and in cookies (see below) on the user's computer. At the moment of the order these are then linked, with the help of a cookie, to already saved and non-personalised closing data. When you acquire a certificate, the specified data is automatically saved in our talent database. This data is stored indefinitely.

Business users who have an account on our platform use it using their name, email address and company information. Since these are permanent customers of CASE through an active account, this and other data entered will also be kept for the duration of the business relationship.

Inclusion in the talent database
When you obtain one of our certificates, you will automatically be saved in our talent database. This is a database in which the data you provide is stored in order to provide you with relevant information and potential job placements. The data provided is expanded to include our performance indicators, as these are crucial for job interviews.

Cooperation with partners
Under certain circumstances and after personal approval (for example by accepting the terms and conditions when ordering a certificate), candidate select GmbH works with companies to ensure that certificate owners receive job interviews and relevant information. This may take the form of being contacted by electronic mail or phone through us or one of our cooperation partners. The respective cooperation partners are explicitly stated in the terms and conditions.

Provision of a curriculum vitae
For a feasible placement process between a company and the owner of a certificate, it is necessary to provide a curriculum vitae. This is not mandatory but increases the likelihood of a job interview. Only companies that have the potential to provide you a job interview as well as cooperation partners, which support by the provision of the service, will be able to access the curriculum vitae. By providing a curriculum vitae you approve of the usage as outlined above.

Disclosure of data for the execution of the contract
If this is necessary to process the contract, we will forward payment data to the responsible credit institution or to payment services selected by you. We are working with Payone GmbH to integrate these payment services into our website.

Use of cookies
We use “cookies” on our website. This serves to make certain functions of our website possible. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer for the duration of a browser session. You can prevent cookies from being installed on your computer by changing your browser settings. However, doing so would mean it may not be possible to use all functions of our website.

Cookies that enable CASE to link users with manually entered data or that store manually entered data for later processing on the user's computer are automatically deleted in the publicly accessible area of this website at the end of a browser session.

This does not apply to some cookies that are implemented as “persistent cookies” for convenience. These are, for example, cookies with the help of which the existing agreement to the terms and conditions and data protection declaration is checked or a valid login to the business customer area is confirmed.

We also use the third-party services listed below, which also use cookies.

Use of Google Analytics
We use the web analysis service Google Analytics from Google Inc. on our website (“Google”, 1600 Amphitheater Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA). This service uses cookies that enable an evaluation of your use of our website. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be shortened within the member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before transmission. The full IP address is only transmitted to a Google server in the USA in exceptional cases and shortened there. IP anonymization is active on this website. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services related to website activity and internet usage.

The IP address transmitted as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. As already mentioned above, you can prevent cookies from being saved in your browser settings. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookies and relating to your use of our website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google. To do this, install the following browser plug-in: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Use of Google ReCaptcha
In certain cases, we use Google ReCaptcha to be able to offer certain services on this website free of charge and to protect them against misuse. This technique collects various data to guarantee that a website is operated by a human, in contrast to the automated use by a computer script. This data is partially saved by Google. A ReCaptcha can also be active without active participation by the user, but is always indicated by a box at the bottom right of the screen. The activation of the ReCaptcha can be prevented on the corresponding pages by not clicking on the "Submit" button.

Use of Leadfeeder

We use the website analysis tool LeadFeeder by Liidio Oy on our website (Liidio Oy, Mikonkatu 17 C Helsinki, 00100 Finnland). This service uses cookies that enable an evaluation of your use of our website. This service uses cookies that allow the analysis of the behaviour of visitors of our website. This information is typically transferred to a Leadfeeder server in the USA and Ireland over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in encrypted form (AES-256). Leadfeeder is being used to analyse interest in content on the websites candidate-select.de, candidate-select.co.uk, candidate-select.com and auswahlverfahren.info

Use of Facebook Remarketing
On certain pages, CASE uses the "Custom Audiences" remarketing function from Facebook Inc. 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). This function is used to present visitors to this website with interest-based advertisements ("Facebook ads") when visiting the social network Facebook. For this purpose, the remarketing tag from Facebook has been implemented on this website, which notifies Facebook of your visit to our site. When you visit the website, a direct connection to the Facebook servers is established. It is transmitted to the Facebook server that you have visited this website and Facebook assigns this information to your personal Facebook user account. For more information on Facebook's collection and use of data, as well as your rights and options to protect your privacy, please see Facebook's privacy policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. Alternatively, you can deactivate the remarketing function "Custom Audiences" at https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads#_=___. To do this, you must be logged in to Facebook.

Use of the Google Ads platform and other third-party services
Various Google Ads platform products are used on some of the pages operated by CASE. This applies in particular to the Google Tag Manager, which enables the dynamic integration of a large number of other services. If a page uses Google Tag Manager and in this way may include third-party services other than those mentioned in this document, an explicit cookie information page is provided on this page that offers detailed information about the specific services used. This applies, for example, to this website. If a page does not have a cookie information page, at most the services mentioned in this document will be used. On the pages that offer a cookie information page, the user is asked to confirm that they are using the Google Tag Manager and the services it implements, before they are used. On sites that do not offer this service, only services necessary for the operation of the site are used and no personal data about these services are collected.

Use of Mailchimp
CASE uses e-mail newsletters on certain websites. For this purpose, the service Mailchimp is used, which is provided by the provider Rocket Science Group LLC (675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE # 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA). In the course of the operation of the e-mail newsletter, data such as names and e-mail addresses of recipients or information about the e-mail servers of the recipient accounts are stored on the provider's American servers. Mailchimp also collects information about whether emails are delivered correctly and whether they have been opened by the user. The opening of e-mails is logged using files to be downloaded from the user's e-mail reader. This is done primarily for statistical analysis of the reading behavior of the newsletter and for technical analysis by the provider. Similar techniques are used to log the click on links within an email. CASE does not conduct an individual analysis of the reading behavior of individual newsletter subscribers. The registration for the newsletter takes place via double opt-in procedure. You can unsubscribe at any time using the links provided in the newsletter.

Use of server log files
In principle, it is possible to use the public area of our website without providing any personal information. In order to guarantee the best possible use of our website, we use server log files. However, only certain data are stored in it. This includes, for example, the time at which certain files are requested and which files they are. It is not possible to draw any conclusions about you from this information. IP addresses of users are only stored in anonymous form in log files.

Use of data in special cases with the express consent of the user
In special cases, to which separate reference is made and in which explicit consent is obtained from the user, further data is collected and used by CASE. The user will be specifically informed about the type of this data before consent.

An example of this is the free issuance of a CASE certificate when participating in a study using aptitude test methods. In such cases, the personalized data can be linked to other available personal data (e.g. CASE score, contact information) and the deletion period specified above is extended to two years. In anonymized form, the data collected is used indefinitely, for example to improve the CASE algorithm.

In these cases, after the explicit consent of the user, CASE can contact the user by email with relevant information (e.g. test results, suitable job offers). The consent to contact us can be revoked informally at any time by e-mail to [email protected].

Contact and information about your data and the deletion of data
You can contact us at any time to receive information about any data stored. This information is of course given free of charge. You are also entitled to request that data be corrected or deleted. If you have any questions about the collection, use and possible deletion of your data or would like to revoke your consent, please contact [email protected].

Only contact details on our website are collected via the contact form, and of course we are happy to delete them on request.

Additional data, such as the final data to be analysed, may also be collected on this website These can of course also be deleted on request. Here, however, it can happen that even after deletion in the active system, individual data initially leaves traces in our anonymized log files or in backups. However, these logs and backups are also destroyed after twelve or three months at the latest. If, in the event of technical problems, older backups have to be restored, the deletion processes that have already been carried out will be implemented again as soon as possible.

If you are part of our talent database, you can request that your data be deleted at any time. We will delete all of your data from our talent database.

Data processing service providers
CASE uses a number of service providers to technically provide the services offered. Data processing contracts in accordance with the applicable provisions have been concluded with all service providers used. CASE guarantees this also in future service relationships.
